Why AppSage exists

Choosing the right SaaS tool shouldn't require reading ten sponsored listicles that all recommend the same products. I built AppSage because I was frustrated with the state of software reviews online: most comparison sites are pay-to-rank directories dressed up as editorial content.

AppSage takes a different approach. Every tool is evaluated on the same criteria — pricing transparency, feature depth, integrations, and real-world usability. No vendor pays to rank higher. No tool gets a favorable review because of an affiliate deal. The comparisons are honest, data-driven, and designed to help you make a decision, not to push you toward a specific product.

Who's behind this

My name is Marian Sollmann. I'm a software developer based in Switzerland with a background in building web applications and data-driven products. I've spent years working with SaaS tools across project management, CRM, marketing, and productivity — both as a user and as someone who builds software.

AppSage is a solo project. There's no venture-backed team, no sales department, no "editorial board" making decisions by committee. It's one person doing thorough research and presenting it clearly. I believe that's an advantage: fewer conflicts of interest, faster updates, and full accountability for everything published on this site.

How the content is created

I use a combination of hands-on research and AI-assisted writing to produce the reviews and comparisons on AppSage. Here's what that means in practice:

• Primary sources first: Every tool's data comes from official vendor websites, pricing pages, documentation, and changelogs. I don't copy from other review sites.
• AI-assisted drafting: I use AI tools to help structure and draft the written content. This lets me cover 106 tools and 1820+ comparisons with the depth they deserve, faster than one person could write manually.
• Human verification: Every piece of content is reviewed against the primary sources. Pricing figures, feature claims, and integration details are verified before publishing.
• Regular updates: Software changes fast. I revisit pricing and feature data regularly to keep the information accurate. The "Updated" date on each page reflects when it was last verified.

I'm transparent about using AI because I think it's the honest thing to do. The value of AppSage isn't that every word was typed by hand — it's that every claim has been checked, the comparisons are structured to be genuinely useful, and there's no hidden agenda behind the recommendations.

Editorial independence

AppSage earns revenue through affiliate links. When you click a link to a tool and sign up, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is clearly disclosed on every page.

However, affiliate relationships never influence how tools are presented or compared. Tools without affiliate links receive the same depth of coverage as those with them. The reviews and verdicts are based solely on features, pricing, and usability — not on which vendor pays the highest commission.
